TAÍSA MALOUF
Taísa Malouf is a production designer with a Master’s degree in Design for Stage and Film from NYU Tisch School of the Arts and a Bachelor’s degree in Semiotics. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Since 2016 she has been a member of United Scenic Artists, Local USA 829 (IATSE).
She won the 2020 Best Production Designer award from AMAAC (Mexican Academy of Arts and Cinematographic Sciences) for the feature film Ya No Estoy Aquí, Mexico’s submission to the 2021 Academy Awards. Her music-video credits include productions for Anitta, Cardi B, and Selena Gomez, and she was the 2021 UK VMA winner for Best Production Designer for the music video “Selfish Love.”
Her international film work includes production design on the Nigerian feature Eyimofe, which premiered at the 2020 Berlinale and won Best Film at the Mostra São Paulo International Film Festival. In the U.S., she art-directed the feature Selah and the Spades (dir. Tayarisha Poe), which was named among former President Barack Obama’s favorite films of 2020. In theatre, she served as associate designer for the Broadway production of Indecent by Paula Vogel, which won two Tony Awards in 2017.
